Supermicro GPU Servers – Optimized Systems with NVIDIA Tesla V100 from Supermicro

Supermicro 4028GR-TXRT and 4028GR-TRT2 – Supermicro’s New GPU Servers and NVIDIA-Optimized Systems

Supermicro expands its extensive GPU server portfolio, providing customers with the unique ability to optimally align workloads and datacenter requirements with the right system configuration. Customers benefit from one of the industry’s most comprehensive feature sets, including maximum GPU density, next-generation NVLink support, and global service and support.

For maximum acceleration of highly parallel applications, Supermicro’s new 4U systems with next-generation NVIDIA NVLink are optimized for overall system performance. Highly parallel workloads such as artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, autonomous driving systems, energy applications, and engineering simulations benefit significantly from this architecture.

The SuperServer 4028GR-TXRT supports up to eight NVIDIA Tesla V100 SXM2 GPU accelerators. The NVIDIA Tesla V100 SXM2 delivers maximum GPU bandwidth for critical HPC clusters and hyperscale workloads. In addition, the system integrates the latest NVIDIA NVLink GPU interconnect technology with more than five times the bandwidth of PCI-E 3.0. The platform also features independent GPU and CPU thermal zone design, delivering uncompromising performance and stability under the most demanding workloads.

The performance-optimized 4U SuperServer 4028GR-TRT2 system supports up to 10 PCI-E Tesla V100 accelerators using Supermicro’s innovative GPU-optimized Single Root Complex PCI-E design. This architecture dramatically improves GPU peer-to-peer communication performance.

For even higher density, the SuperServer 1028GQ-TRT supports up to four PCI-E Tesla V100 GPU accelerators within only 1U rack space. In addition, the powerful Workstation 7049GP-TRT supports up to four NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPU accelerators, making it ideal for media, entertainment, medical monitoring, and rendering applications.

Supermicro and NVIDIA Recommend the 4U SuperServers

“Supermicro designs the industry’s most application-optimized GPU server systems and offers the broadest range of GPU-optimized servers and workstations in the market,” said Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro.

Supermicro’s high-performance computing solutions enable expansion of compute clusters for deep learning, engineering, and scientific workloads. The most intensive applications are accelerated while simultaneously reducing power consumption. With Supermicro’s latest innovations, customers can maximize acceleration for applications and innovation, enabling solutions for some of the world’s most complex and demanding challenges.

These innovations include the latest NVIDIA V100 PCI-E and V100 SXM2 GPUs within performance-optimized 1U and 4U systems featuring next-generation NVLink technology.

“Supermicro’s new high-density servers have been optimized to fully leverage the new NVIDIA Tesla V100 datacenter GPUs and deliver an entirely new level of compute efficiency for enterprises and HPC customers,” said Ian Buck, Vice President and General Manager of the Accelerated Computing Group at NVIDIA.

Furthermore, the new SuperServers provide significantly higher throughput for compute-intensive analytics, deep learning workloads, and scientific applications while maintaining minimal power consumption.

Deep learning applications require big data analytics, modern NVIDIA GPU architectures, and the compute power of multiple GPUs. GPUs must communicate efficiently and effectively to scale GPU networking performance properly.

Supermicro’s Single-Root GPU architecture enables highly efficient communication between multiple GPUs while minimizing latency and maximizing throughput.
